Meridian Native Chosen to Sing at NASCAR Race

A Meridian native will be singing the national anthem to kick off Sunday's NASCAR race in Bristol. Cheryl Luquire is from the Queen City, but has since moved to Nashville, where she sings and writes music.

Several artists were considered for the performance. Luquire's booking manager called her Friday to let her know she was chosen.

Luquire caught a flight to Nashville Saturday to get ready for her debut at a NASCAR event.
