Meridian Symphony Orchestra Receives Big Donation

Meridian, Mississippi The Meridian Symphony League presented a big donation to the Meridian Symphony Orchestra Tuesday.

The group handed out a check for $14,500 to the symphony. The Symphony League raised four thousand dollars more than they have in previous year. Most of the money was raised at the annual crawfish boil and the group's silent auction and wine tasting event.

"It's a very exciting time, and just really excited for this organization and all these young ladies who have worked so hard to be able to raise the money to be able to give back to the Meridian Symphony Orchestra so that they can continue to operate in Meridian," said Lauren Pratt, the president of the Meridian Symphony League.

The Meridian Symphony League is made up of young women from the ages of 21-35 who volunteer to help out the Meridian Symphony Orchestra's fundraising efforts.
