A community prayer service will be held in Meridian on a regular basis.

Rachel Bourrage says the Baptist ministers conference is heading up the effort to pray, especially for the youth and young adults of the city.

She said they plan to meet for an hour on the steps of city hall the first Thursday of each month, starting Sept. 6.

"I would like to see people come out at 9 a.m. this coming Thursday to support this, because prayer is always needed," said Bourrage.

All denominations are welcome to participate.

The prayer will be held at the steps of Meridian City Hall, starting at 9 a.m. and lasting about an hour, the first Thursday of the month.
