Mississippi Firm Recalls Frozen Chicken Meals

Pearl, Miss. A Pearl, Miss., company is recalling 2,486 pounds of frozen chicken meals because of mis-branding and an undeclared allergen.

U.S. Department of Agriculture says in a news release that the products contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label as a sub-ingredient used in butter flavoring.

The products recalled are a three-compartment tray containing "Lemon Pepper Chicken Breast Filet with Rib Meat Smoke Flavor Added / Mixed Vegetables / Basil and Garlic Fettuccine" bearing the establishment number "P-13850" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The products were produced and packaged by Traditions on Oct. 5, 2012; Dec 19, 2012; and Jan. 28, 2013 and distributed nationwide.

The USDA and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
