Multicultural Worship Service Unites Community

Many gathered at Dumont Plaza in downtown Meridian for a multicultural worship service.

People from all races, denominations, and groups were invited to come together in unity and prayer for our community. City leaders and congregations from many different churches attended today's service. Rev. Charles Johnson says it's great to see people unite.

"Feels good, it feels good to look out and see my brothers of all races coming together on one ground, one area, in unity," he explains. " Because we realize where there is unity there is strength. We need to stop the violence, we are going to stop the violence, gods people are going to stop the violence in our community. "

Johnson says there are plans for future events just like this one.
