Quitman, Miss. Back in August of 2013, 34-year-old Steven Ladel Johnson was involved in an accident in Randolph County, Ala., that killed one person and injured two others.

After getting the results of a toxicology analysis in February, Johnson was indicted for murder and and a warrant issued for his arrest.

Investigators got a tip Monday morning that Johnson was at a home in Clarke County, Miss. Multiple agencies, including the FBI, spent the day searching for him.

Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp says, "I called in some additional forces from Lauderdale and Choctaw County Ala., and the highway patrol and we were able to put a little pressure on this individual and were able to communicate with him last night. At approximately 10 p.m. he turned himself in."

Kemp says that it is important officials caught him as quickly as they did, so that Johnson didn't get desperate and become a danger.

Kemp says, "That’s just business as usual for us. We're just glad to get him in custody where this individual can go back to Alabama to face charges. We're just glad to get him out of our jurisdiction because sometimes when these things go on for days or months, people can become desperate and start doing desperate things."

Johnson is being held at the Clarke County Jail for a few days till he is extradited to Alabama.
