A trial is scheduled to begin Wednesday for a Clarke County man accused of killing an electric utility worker during the heat of the summer last year.
Keith Davis is charged with murder in the 2012 death of Nathan Baker. Baker was sent to Davis' residence in the Carmichael community to turn off the power for non-payment.
Baker was shot to death, allegedly by Davis. His body was found in Wayne County. The case sparked outrage in Clarke County.
"I'm sorry for what I did," said Keith Davis after his arrest.
Davis' wife was originally charged with accessory after the fact, but was not indicted. His 14-year-old son was also charged. That case was handled through youth court and no further information about it has been released.
Davis could get life in prison if he is convicted on the charge.
