Meridian, Miss. The new Meridian Police Department building is complete and will be showcased later this week.
But Acting Police Chief James Sharpe took Newscenter 11 on a tour of the facility Tuesday.
Structural issues and a lack of space plague the current facility.
Sharpe says the new location on 22nd Avenue South is functional and may very well be the best-designed in the state or the region.
Once it starts, the chief said the process of moving in will probably take about two weeks.
A ribbon cutting is set for Thursday morning at 10:00.
