Dozens gathered on the East Central Community College campus on Tuesday afternoon for the opening of the school's new science building.
A ribbon cutting was held outside the new Aaron R. Davis science building, located near the Huff Auditorium. The building contains four biology labs, a micro lab, and a physics lab, which officials say were much needed.
"It's a beautiful new building for our students," science chairman Curt Skipper says. "It's this gorgeous building that gives a university feel to the campus and just the energy the students bring in is exciting and it excites us."
The neighboring Cross science building is set to undergo a renovation soon, which is expected to take about a year.
