Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant is nominating four new members to the 12-person state College Board.
He announced Friday that he has chosen Karen Cummins, who is Southaven operations manager for Atmos Energy; Dr. Ford Dye, who's
an ear, nose and throat physician in Oxford; Shane Hopper of Tupelo, who's president of Success Learning Corporation, Inc., a company that provides training to the insurance and financial services industry; and Hal Parker of Bolton who founded a fiberglass and roofing distributing company.
If confirmed by the state Senate, they would succeed four board members who terms are expiring in May: Amy Whitten of Oxford, Dr.
Stacy Davidson of Cleveland, Bettye Henderson Neely of Grenada and
Scott Ross of West Point.
The board oversees the Mississippi's eight public universities.
