No Charges Filed in Fatal Meridian Shooting Case

Meridian, Miss. The Meridian Police Department says no one is in custody after a fatal shooting on Friday.

Two people were initially taken into custody after police say a man was shot to death at a home on 22nd Avenue Heights about 12:30 Friday afternoon. Detective Dareall Thompson tells Newscenter 11 that after speaking with witnesses, it appears the 24-year old victim forced his way into the home.

Thompson says no charges have been filed at this time and the case will be presented to a Grand Jury as a manslaughter case. The victim's name has not been released.
