Nursing Center Expands Services

Meridian Community Living Center hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its new transitional care unit and therapy gym.

Administrator Craig Green said some semi-private rooms have been converted for hospital patients to continue their recovery and prepare to return home.

"The transitional care is set up differently. The rooms are private," Green said. "They have recliners, tables and chairs, flat-screen TVs. It's more like a small apartment setting, more something like what you see when you're at home versus a traditional nursing home."

Meridian Community Living Center at 517 33rd Street still offers long-term nursing care, but has added this feature to meet a different need.
