Lauderdale County, Miss. One person is in custody after a standoff in Lauderdale County on Monday morning.
A heavy police presence could be seen at a home in the 6300 block of Mosley Lake Road in Lauderdale County. Sheriff Billy Sollie says a dispute between two adult males led one of the individual's to barricade himself. Sollie says negotiations continued for several hours Monday morning, but were unsuccessful. The sheriff says the SWAT team was called in and Kenny Neal was taken into custody without harming himself or anyone else.
"Based on what we've learned from the community in this neighborhood, this individual has been treated before for issues, dealing with mental issues," Sheriff Sollie says. "So, he was having an emotional meltdown this morning."
Sheriff Sollie says officers did find a knife inside of the home, but no gun. Neal was transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Facility.
