Pain Still Fresh for Family of Missing Man

Meridian, Miss. Three years later and the pain is still very fresh for the family of a missing local man.

Tadarius Jones vanished in August 2011 and since then, his family has been hoping and praying for his safe return while trying to stay strong.

"Well, it's hard," Joquasha Samuel says. "But you know, you've got to have faith and believe that he's coming back."

His sisters say they will never give up hope on one day seeing their brother again. While it's been three years since Tadarius was last seen, his family has made it their mission to make sure this case continues to receive exposure. In fact, that exposure reached the national level when the case was featured on the show "Find Our Missing."

"That was awesome," Jatoria Jones says. "That was amazing. You know, that was a blessing from God because that's a national television show, so that means worldwide coverage."

The family says it appreciates the Meridian Police Department for continuing to investigate the disappearance of Tadarius. MPD does say the investigation is still active. In fact, the police department recently received some new leads, which detectives are following up on. Family members hope someone out there knows something.

"I just think about over the course of three years, you just think about, you know, someone that you love," Jones explains. "Or someone that you see everyday and you care for and you would do anything for. And for them just to vanish, you know, that's a hurtful feeling and that's just kind of what my family has been dealing with for 3 years."

In the meantime, Tadarius' loved ones are trying to hold on to the many happy memories they have of him.

"Smile," Samuel adds. "Just remember his smile and how he dressed because he's my inspiration."
