The city of Meridian has again begun work in its latest paving project.
Public works director, Monty Jackson, says the weather has finally cleared and that allows this much-needed work to continue.
The project already brought some attention to 29th Avenue, Davis Street and Valley Street. Friday focused on A Street between 22nd and 26th avenues.
Jackson said about 120 sections of road will be paved in areas all over the city.
"It's something that we need to do on a regular basis," said Jackson. "The last time we had any big paving project was back in 2004-2005. It's just time. Need a lot of money to do a lot of streets."
Jackson said council members came up with lists for each ward, then they were prioritized. Only the ones ranked at the top of the list will be overlaid in this project.
