Pedestrian Killed

An investigation is ongoing into the death of a pedestrian in Leake County. Randy. C. Polk of Canton was killed just before 1:30 Saturday morning on Highway 16 west outside Carthage. Investigators say the 50-year-old was walking along the highway when he was struck by a vehicle. So far, no charges have been filed. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating.
