Hospital officials say a pilot who crash landed in a field in Clarke County is in stable condition.
A Cessna 172 piloted by 30-year-old Freddie McCall of Brewton, Ala., crashed near the Wayne County line.
McCall was airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson.
The FAA is investigating the crash. McCall apparently reported engine problems just before the crash occurred.
