Police Chief Reacts to Murder Charges

A West Alabama police chief tells Newscenter 11 it's unfortunate to see two young people in his community charged with murdering someone.

York Police Chief Brian Harris says 21-year old Christopher Edwards and 19-year old Duhmon Lake are charged with using a metal bar to kill 31-year old Terrell Brown at his home in York. Investigators say Brown was just days away from leaving the area for a job offshore.

"It is surprising," Harris says. "It is disheartening also to see young men throw their lives away like this. So, I just hope that our youngsters learn to be good adults."

The suspects are charged with capitol murder. Their cases are expected to be presented to a grand jury in September.
