Portable sawmills are apparently making a big come back in this area.
Local resident Larry Butler is helping people save big bucks on building a new home.
The cost of sawing the logs into board lengths averages 20 cents per linear foot.
Butler says if you have your own property with timber you could save fifty percent of material costs.
Butler said he believes that the old school of building homes is back since the economy is very slow at this time. And local contractors are using them.
