Rain Doesn't Stop Rose Hill Tours

Updated: Sun 12:32 AM, Sep 30, 2012

Despite the rain, Rosehill Cemetery was packed on Saturday night for its annual cemetery tour.

People lined 40th Avenue waiting for their turn to hear from community members dressed as people who are buried at Rosehill. Characters included gypsies, soldiers, and past mayors. Current Meridian Mayor Cheri Barry dressed up and shared a story too.

"we have the queen of the gypsies. We have confederate soldiers. We have a grandmother telling about her granddaughter who had yellow fever and died on the train from mobile. It's just a very interesting tour that people should come out and view next year if they get the chance."

If you were not able to attend on Saturday night, you can order a DVD tour. The number for Rose Hill Cemetery is 601-482-2288.
