Reeves Speaks to Rotarians

Meridian, Miss.
Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves was the guest speaker at Wednesday's meeting of the Meridian Rotary Club.

Reeves says he wanted to talk about the successes of conservative legislation in Mississippi. He says he believes lawmakers have been able to help reduce the debt burden on state taxpayers.

Reeves said he believes Mississippi has been working more effectively than Congress in making a difference. Reeves says he was excited to make the trip east of the capital city.

"My best days as lieutenant governor are days I'm out here talking to folks all across our state," said Reeves. "I love Meridian, love east central Mississippi. This community has been so good to me every time I've ever run for office, and it's just good to be back."

Reeves served two terms as Mississippi state treasurer before he won election to his current office in 2011.
