Special awards were handed out Thursday to a pair of deserving students at Ross Collins Career Center at Meridian High School.
The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation presented Latondra Cole with the certificate for Highest Overall Achievement in her class. Austin Lanier received the certificate for most improved student in his class.
Each of these students encouraged others to never stop working hard.
"Keep going, and if you think you can do it, do it," said Austin Lanier, Most Improved. "And if you don't, then at least try. So you can know if that's your right thing."
"It makes me feel good," said Latondra Cole, Highest Overall Achievement. "It makes that I do actually come to school and get recognized for the good things that I do."
The EMBDC presents Head of the Class awards each semester to students in Lauderdale County and Meridian school.
Each student will be recognized again at the end of the school year.
