Southern Pine Electric Power Association hosted an energy fair at its Newton office Tuesday.
Members of the company handed out energy efficiency products, such as compact fluorescent light bulbs and window kits to improve insulation.
Staff also talked about some tips to help people become more energy efficient. Becoming energy efficient can help customers save money.
"It's very important now, especially with costs going up of energy and everything around the board that we learn how to conserve energy in our own homes," said community coordinator Leif Munkel.
One of the tips suggested is setting your thermostat lower in the winter. Adjusting it 2 degrees lower can save you around 12 percent on your power bill.
