Second Amendment Holiday this Weekend

Jackson, Miss. Outdoors enthusiasts will see a sales tax break on hunting items this weekend in Mississippi.

The state’s new Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is Sept. 5-7.

The three-day sales tax holiday applies to a wide range of hunting gear, including archery equipment, firearms and ammunition. The initiative is modeled after similar event in Louisiana.

The sales tax holiday arrives two months before Mississippi voters head to the polls to consider declaring hunting and fishing a state constitutional right. The issue is on the Nov. 4 ballot.
