Second Mississippi City Passes LGBT Resolution

Hattiesburg, Miss. Hattiesburg's City Council made the city the second in the State to pass a resolution recognizing the dignity and worth of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender residents. Starkville was Mississippi's first municipality to pass such a resolution last month. Tuesday night's council vote was unanimous, and Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree thanked the city council for joining him in making what he called "this very important resolution, a reality," noting Hattiesburg draws its strength from diversity.
