Meridian police are investigating a shooting that happened late Friday afternoon.
Police say a man was shot in the leg about 3:30 p.m. near 38th Avenue and South Street.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is not known.
Police took a person of interest into custody not long after the shooting, but there was no immediate word from police on any charges.
