Meridian, Miss. Two local schools were placed on lock-down Tuesday morning after reports that shots had been fired near the campus.
Meridian police say they are searching for three male juveniles believed to be between the ages of fourteen and sixteen.
The gunshots were fired in the air in Velma Young Park about 10 a.m. Nearby Parkview Elementary and Magnolia Middle School were placed on lock-down as a precaution.
There were reports at the time that the persons who fired the shots were headed toward campus. Police quickly responded to the scene and made sure the campus was safe.
