Softball Tournament Displays "Caring for Current"

Meridian, Miss. The game of softball is helping the family of a local child who is under intense medical care.

The tournament was organized to raise money for Ben and Carrie Wallace's son, Current. He was born prematurely and has already had a couple of open-heart surgeries. Organizer Danny Todd says he hopes the fundraiser will take the financial burden off of Current's mom and dad.

"Yeah, we've had a lot of donations throughout the whole city of Meridian, Philadelphia, all over," Todd points out. "We've done awesome with the donations and stuff like that. And we're doing prizes to be raffled off."

There were also games for kids who were on hand at the Sammie Davidson complex.
