Meridian, Miss. A longtime educator is leaving St. Patrick School after 23 years. A reception was held Thursday for principal, Julie Bordelon, who is stepping down at the end of the school year.
Students faculty, and church officials honored her after morning Mass.
Bordelon says she has had a wonderful time working at St. Patrick's.
"I've grown up here. I'll be 50 next week, and I started when I was 27," said Bordelon. "I don't know a world beyond St. Patrick."
Bordelon was a teacher at St. Patrick's for nine years and spent the last 14 as principal. She's going to take an interim position working with a Catholic school in Madison.
