East Mississippi State Hospital hosted its annual Christmas parade Thursday.
The local police and fire departments participated in the parade along with several other businesses and agencies in the community.
Each individual unit of the hospital also decorated a float for the event.
Hospital officials say this is a great way for the community to get involved and help get people in the Christmas spirit.
"This is a great opportunity for our patients to experience the Christmas time," said teacher April Luke. "They are not able to have the opportunity to be at our Christmas parade that our community has on Saturday, so what we are able to do is bring this opportunity to them here on our campus."
Grand marshal for this year's parade was Meridian Mayor Percy Bland.
