Some local students got to hear from professionals in our area Saturday to find out what it takes to make it following college.

The Community of Hope is a program sponsored by Jubilee Mennonite Church in Meridian. It's a program of high school age teens who are working with mentors toward success in college and beyond.

Saturday those in the program heard from a wide variety of professionals heard from a wide variety of professionals and learned what it takes to make it in various fields.

"With this career day event we really just wanted to give them an idea of what's possible in their future," says organizer Flo Bradley.

Students from Meridian and Southeast Lauderdale High School took part in the career day.
