Mississippi students in grades three through eight will take the MCT2 May 13-15. Some schools are trying to motivate students to do their very best on these standardized tests.
Oakland Heights Elementary School hosted a pep rally Friday afternoon to have a little fun and relaxation before the testing starts.
The school had a competition to see which grade could come up with the best chant.
"So we're trying to make sure that Oakland Heights is doing their part in making third, fourth and fifth grade students productive citizens," said principal, Barbara Young.
Young says preparation this year concentrated on giving students the skills to be successful.
