Sumter County Students Attend Career Fair

York, Alabama It's never too early to plan for the future, and York, Alabama eighth graders were looking ahead Thursday.

Students from Sumter County's junior high schools gathered at York's West End Junior High School for a career fair. NewsCenter 11's own Chief Meteorologist Brian Hutton, Junior was the speaker. Organizers say all students have to submit a career plan at the end of eighth grade, so it's important to show them the possibilities.

"We bring all the other junior high students in. Mrs. Mason here at York West End is our sponsor this year. We bring the students from the other junior highs so they can look at college life and careers and start thinking about what they want to do, because we want them to be successful." said Grace Hall-King of Sumter County Schools.

Several colleges were represented as well as industries and the military.
