Big changes are heading our way. We're expecting a cold front to move through early Monday, bringing our temps down into the 40's for our highs and 20's for our lows. Tuesday, we are looking at another system to develop to our west and track off to our south and east. Various models have been calling for snow for a couple of days now while others were indicating dry conditions. All of that changed in the last 24 hours as most models are pointing towards snow for East Mississippi and West Alabama. Models become more accurate the closer you get to the time period they forecast for. They can be quite accurate and very inaccurate too. However, models are trending that we will see snow. Based on the latest model runs, I think we will see snow. Below I have the snow totals that I believe we will see out of this event for various locations:

Philadelphia: light dusting to 0.25"

Linvingston: Light dusting to 0.25"

Forest: Light dusting to 0.25"

NAS Meridian: 0.25" to 0.75"

Meridian: 0.5" to 1"

Quitman: 0.5" to 1"

Butler: 1" to 2"

Laurel: "1 to 3"

Waynesboro: 1.5" 3.5"

These totals are based on what I've seen out of the latest models runs and are subject to change, especially with as quickly as the models are changing with this particular event.

Temperatures will be below freezing all day Tuesday with our over night lows dropping into the lower teens for Wednesday and Thursday.

Old man winter is looking to loosen his grip on the south with indications of some upper 60's in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday of next week.

Be sure to tune in Monday morning where Aaron Morrison will have the latest on our snow chances and snow totals, as this is a rapidly changing event.
