Hattiesburg, Miss. Mississippi Supreme Court Justice James W. Kitchens and Randy Pierce will speak at graduation exercises Dec. 13 at the University of Southern Mississippi.
About 1,100 students will receive degrees during ceremonies at Reed Green Coliseum on the Hattiesburg campus.
Kitchens will speak to graduates at the 10 a.m. commencement, which will be followed by the 2:30 p.m. ceremony where Pierce will speak.
Kitchens and Pierce are both USM graduates.
Kitchens has been a member of the court since January 2009. He served three terms as district attorney in Copiah, Lincoln, Pike and Walthall counties. He also practiced law in Crystal Springs.
Pierce, a Greene County native, also joined the court in January 2009. He is a former chancery judge and also served in the Mississippi Legislature.
