Meridian, Miss. Children of all ages came together Friday night for the third annual Symphony Doo Dah concert at the MSU Riley Center.

Kids got to try out playing several different musical instruments. The president of the Meridian Symphony Association hopes this kind of event will help children learn to enjoy the symphony.

"We hope that the kids will take out of this a love of classical music and see how Disney used a lot of classical music in his cartoons and in his full-length motion pictures," said Condon Hughes, the president of the Meridian Symphony Association.

The kids also got to take their pictures with all of their favorite Disney characters and get their faces painted.

After the kids had fun with the instruments, the Meridian Symphony Orchestra performed. They played several numbers including a medley of Disney songs. The Meridian High School choir also sang a musical piece with the orchestra, and the West Lauderdale High School drumline also played one piece in conjunction with the orchestra.
