Updated: Thu 11:24 PM, Sep 20, 2012

A new organization is open in Meridian, with the goal of helping people recover from addiction.

The ribbon was cut Thursday afternoon for Teaching Alcohol Addiction Anger Management Education" or TAME. Owner Adele Graham says, after working in the court system, she recognized a need for what she calls Recovery 101.

"TAME's goal is to cut down on the recidivism rate of DUIs and possession charges in Meridian and the surrounding areas," said Graham. "And hopefully by people attending our classes, even though they're court-ordered, they will come away from it with a positive experience."

TAME opened Aug. 1 at 1201 22nd Avenue. It serves Meridian, Lauderdale County, and Kemper and Clarke counties.
