"Taking It to the Streets" to Unite Community Against Crime

Meridian, Miss. Another community group is inviting the public to attend an event aimed at promoting harmony, Taking It to the Streets.

The group will meet at the corner of 13th Street and 34th Avenue Sunday morning at 11 a.m. and parade with signs to Velma Young Park. There will be a community prayer, plenty of music and free cold beverages.

"We're taking it to the streets," say the events organizers, Tiffany Hubbard and Tracy Watts. "An event that is geared toward crime prevention and reaching the community. We are promoting oneness, harmony, unity and peace. May the 18th and 25th at 11 a.m."

Organizers are inviting anyone to come out and take part.
