MSU Meridian invited school districts to come to the campus and meet teachers who will be entering the job market in just a couple of months.

The career fair Friday attracted thirteen districts that are looking for new teachers.

Officials say the fair makes it easy for districts to conduct preliminary interviews.

"We are sending them out as bona fide teachers, from kindergarten through grade 12," said Penny Wallin, of MSU Meridian's educational leadership program. "And it's important for the children of Mississippi because we're sending out students who are well prepared to understand the social, emotional, and academic areas."

About forty students will graduate from MSU Meridian with teaching degrees in a matter of weeks.
