A former Union school teacher has been sentenced to prison for having sex with a student.
43-year-old Emily Hansford recently pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual battery of a child under the age of 18 while in a position of trust.
Hansford was sentenced to eight years in prison as part of a plea bargain in the case. She was arrested in February 2012.
Hansford will be required to register as a sex offender after she is released.
