Three teachers at Northeast Lauderdale Middle School had their hair cut for the Locks of Love charity that turns real hair into wigs for cancer patients.
Students also got in on the fun. They bought chances to take part in the cutting. The winners took great pleasure in cutting the hair of their teachers. The teachers say it's a great way to help out a great charity.
"My oldest daughter asked me, 'Mama, why are you doing that?' And I said, well you donated your hair to Locks of Love. And she said, 'yeah, but a middle school kid didn't cut it.' And I said, there's not much I can do to help, but donating my hair will help," said Cindy Slaughter, 7th grade teacher.
"I think it's good for our students to see us do things like this, so it inspires them to do things like this," said Kim Pearsell, 6th grade teacher.
The students paid a dollar per chance to get the opportunity to cut their teacher's hair.
