Meridian, Miss. We are one step closer to finding out the fate of one of Meridian's most historic buildings. The deadline for developers to submit proposals for the Threefoot Building was Friday, February 28th. A total of two proposals were submitted. John McClure, who is the Community Development Director for the City of Meridian, says that a committee is being formed to review the proposals. He says that committee will be made up of members from the public and private sector. Committee members are expected to start examining the proposals within the next two weeks.
Details are yet to be released about the submitted proposals for the vacant Threefoot Building. However, in the past there have been discussions about possibly converting it into a hotel or combination residential and commercial space.
