Seventh Street in downtown Meridian Thursday looked as it usually does on any given business day.

But Saturday, you'll see the area turn into one huge art gallery.

"Food vendors, artists of all types, coming from all over the Southeast. We have about 25 different artists coming," said Wayne Rawson, chairman of the Threefoot Arts Festival.

The Threefoot Festival has found a nice home on 7th Street. Because the location is in the center of town, it makes coming out to enjoy a day of art gazing and food eating all the more convenient.

"The food vendors will be on the southeast end of 7th Street and the artists will be on the north end," Rawson said.

Another great thing about the Threefoot Arts Festival is it will allow children the chance to decorate the downtown Meridian City Hall construction site.

Festival organizers say they want the children to use the temporary fence around city hall as a canvas.

"There will be a story tellers station set up in the children's hands-on area that will have nine different stations. This year we are inviting the kids to white wash the fence in front of Meridian's city hall, which should be a lot of fun for them," said Rawson.

Keeping the festival children-friendly is something that is very important to organizers. Keeping adults entertained is also important.

With the famous Threefoot Bloody Marys, live bands, and eclectic affordable art, there should be something for everyone.

The festival will be on 7th Street between 23rd and 25th avenues, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The event is free.
