Waynesboro, Miss. The trial for two people charged in a fatal shooting in Wayne County that left one woman dead and another injured has been rescheduled for May 5.
Authorities say 21-year-old Houston Forrest Johnston is charged with one count of murder and Johnston's mother, 47-year-old Mary Elizabeth Johnston, is charged with aggravated assault.
Their trial was scheduled for this week. The Chronicle reports that a limited number of jurors prompted Circuit Judge Robert Bailey to postpone it.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Belinda Walters was killed and her 18-year-old daughter was wounded in a confrontation at the Johnston's home in December of 2012.
Prosecutors say the confrontation was over text messages between Houston Johnston and Walters' other daughter, who is 13.
