Sheriff Tyrone Clark says a pair of jail trusties who walked off their assignments without permission face new charges.
Clark identified the two inmates as 23-year-old Walter Amerson and 25-year-old James Bell.
The sheriff said the trusties walked off from the jail grounds Tuesday morning. Clark said they later returned and are back in the jail
Clark said neither man was a threat to the community. Amerson was originally held for failure to appear in court. Bell was charged with failure to pay child support.
But now both have forfeited the privilege of being a trusty and will now face additional charges.
