Mississippi Republican Reps. Steven Palazzo and Alan Nunnelee voted against a resolution Wednesday night that ended the 16-day partial government shutdown.
Republican Rep. Gregg Harper and Democrat Bennie Thompson and U.S. Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, both Republicans, voted for the resolution.
Palazzo says the resolution did nothing to address health care overhaul and did nothing to reduce spending.
Nunnelee agreed, saying the deal failed to address the problems Congress was elected to fix including the health care law and the national debt.
Cochran, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, says the bipartisan plan should be followed by an agreement that will reduce debt by changing spending.
Wicker says it's important that the U.S. not default on its financial obligations.
