Two Sentenced in Operation Brusha

A pair of defendants in a Scott County narcotics investigation were sentenced Tuesday.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Charles Dewayne Loper, 37, and Shamal Anton Moss, 34, of Forest, Miss., were sentenced in U.S. District Court in connection with an extensive narcotics investigation, dubbed “Operation Brusha”.

Loper was sentenced to 100 months in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release and Moss was sentenced to 110 months in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release.

Both defendants previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

“Operation Brusha” was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security Investigations and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics with assistance from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Forest Police Department, and Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
