The United Way Board of Directors met Tuesday for its annual Day of Calling, as it reaches for a $1 million goal for 2014.
United Way used a Super Bowl theme to try to motivate the board, dividing it into two teams, Seahawks and Broncos.
The requirement to win is that each member must raise $5,000.
"We are trying to push our board this year to raise anywhere from $75,000 to $100,000. So that's going to be their own little contribution," said The United Way's Sara Odom. "So if you make a donation now to one of the board members, it would be a huge help to them and the overall campaign."
The United Way board has until Feb. 15 to meet its goals, and the winning team gets a special surprise.
