United Way of East Mississippi reached out to the community as it works toward an ambitious goal.
Tuesday was the annual Day of Calling in which the agency's board members actively seek support for United Way by making phone calls to prospective donors.
Board member Elisa Mayo points out United Way has expanded its service area to include two neighboring counties, and reaching the $1 million goal is essential.
"It's really a great opportunity for the board members to get out there and reach out to those community members," said Mayo. "And also for the community members to kind of get updated on what's going on with United Way and what we're doing and what we're able to fund throughout the Lauderdale, Kemper and Clarke counties."
The United Way is trying to hit its $1 million goal, an all-time high for the agency, by Mar. 1. If you'd like to make a donation, you may call 601-693-2732, or donate online. A link is provided below.
