WTOK-TV will broadcast local newscasts in high definition for the first time at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
This is the culmination of a long planning process, complete with the addition of HD cameras and technical upgrades to our control room that required it to be totally revamped. It even required a set redesign and new graphics package.
You'll notice a wider screen and sharper picture quality.
"It has been a long time coming, and it has been a lot of hard work for the last few months to get all of this ready," said general manager Tim Walker. "Every staff member here has done double duty to get this done."
The intent is to give viewers the best news-watching experience.
